Who is eligible to participate?
The event is open to all high school juniors and seniors interested in participating in band at Ohio State — including The Ohio State University Marching and Athletic Bands, concert bands and jazz bands. While the Marching Band is an all-brass-and-percussion ensemble, there are plenty of ensemble opportunities for woodwind players in the Ohio State Bands. Attendees are also invited to bring two guests each.
Where and when is this event?
Ohio State Bands Night will be held on Sunday, April 14, from 3-7 p.m. at the Joan Zeig Steinbrenner Band Center, located between gates 10 and 12 of Ohio Stadium. Check in will begin no earlier than 1:30 p.m.
What should you bring?
Yourself and your instrument (brass and percussion instruments will be available to check out if you do not have your own). Parents are invited as well.
Where should I park?
Park in the Tuttle Park Place Garage on the day of the event, and your parking will be validated (one parking voucher per attendee). This will be the only free parking available, and you will receive a parking garage exit pass upon check-in. If you choose to park in any of the surface lots by the stadium, please use a Pay-by-Plate machine or you will be ticketed. The Ohio State University Marching Band is not responsible for any costs incurred for parking outside of Tuttle Garage.
What is provided at the event?
Attendees will receive a free T-shirt, dinner, and tour of the facility, as well as the opportunity to play Ohio State school songs alongside our student musicians!
