Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. Joseph C. Myers (OSUMB drum major 1945), age 17 became the youngest drum major in OSU history. The freshman from Orrville, Ohio, entered Ohio State in the College of the Arts. In addition to his talent with the baton, he also played the clarinet.

He was encouraged to attend OSU by a former drum major, Myron McKelvey (OSUMB drum major 1938), who had seen and judged him in a contest.
