TBDBITL wows Ohio Stadium crowd with 'Modern Movie Musicals' show

Marching band forms Mary Poppins on the field

The Ohio State University Marching Band had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, saluting songs from recent musical films with its "Modern Movie Musicals" halftime show as the Buckeyes football team faced Miami University.

The halftime show began with two selections from "The Greatest Showman" starring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum of circus fame. The band played "The Greatest Show" and "This is Me" while showing off a high-wire trapeze act formation as well as a man riding an elephant under a circus tent.

Next up was "Overture" and "Trip a Little Light Fantastic" from the movie "Mary Poppins Returns." TBDBITL started the song off by gently landing a flying Mary Poppins onto the field. Mary floated with her umbrella and even closed it as she touched the ground. The band concluded the song by lighting a lamp as seen in the movie, with a flame prop being used when the lamp was lit.

Third was a tribute to "A Star is Born" starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. The band played "Shallow" for this act of the show.

The show concluded with "Another Day of Sun" from the movie "La La Land" starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. The band made a happy sun formation and also showcased people dancing atop cars in an homage to the opening scene of the movie where actors dance atop vehicles in a bumper-to-bumper Los Angeles traffic.

The entire halftime show is available online and can be seen below.
