Josh Reynolds currently serves as Assistant Director of Marching and Athletic Bands at The Ohio State University, where he is actively involved in the instruction, administration, and performance coordination of one of the nation’s premier collegiate band programs. In this role, he works closely with the Ohio State Marching Band and Athletic Band, contributing to rehearsals, game day performances, and various university events.
Reynolds, a native of Utica, Ohio, completed his Master of Music in wind conducting at The Ohio State University, where he studied conducting with Russell C. Mikkelson and Scott A. Jones. During his time at Ohio State, he worked with a variety of ensembles, including the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Collegiate Winds, University Band, and the Marching and Athletic Bands.
He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, studying conducting with Margaret Underwood and Michael Yonchak, and horn with Kim McCann. Reynolds taught for nine years in Columbus City Schools and was awarded Educator of the Year in 2017. His ensembles regularly participated in Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Contests, Solo and Ensemble events, and community performances throughout Central Ohio.
Reynolds’ professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA), the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
